ON&ON

Written and directed by Robyn Wong Min Xuan, "ON&ON" is a near-wordless, surrealist short that follows two dear friends on the brink of parting. As they anxiously anticipate a move that will separate them, their emotions surface through strange and serendipitous encounters with onions. The film's score draws inspiration from American experimental composers and Eastern pianists, strongly influenced by Ryuichi Sakamoto's melodic storytelling and Philip Glass and Steve Reich's use of repetition.

Score co-composed with Audrey Mills. Excerpts are the opening scene, a point of realization, and the closing scene.
